  • To encourage young professionals to participate in AFSEC activities and standardization work and provide a program that will assist in the career development through participation in standards activities.
  • To encourage women to participate in AFSEC activities and standardization work
  • To advocate for the inclusion of standards education in university and/or college curricula especially for engineering students

Proposed Action plan 2021

  • Definition of AYGPs principles and governance structures
  • Establishment of a yearly AYGP training and mentorship program
  • Drafting of a 3 year program of work agenda for AYGP
  • Official launch of the AYGP program and elect AYGP officials.
  • Working groups will be formed based on continental challenges to finalize the AYGP program related to the SDGs and the AfCFTA.
